STAGE
BURQ OFF!
In 2013, my debut one woman show became an international sensation. I toured globally, playing my mother, father, brother, and eighteen other characters as I explored the undoing of my Muslim upbringing through comedy. Earning me interviews with CNN, Deepok Chopra, and more, I was able to launch my performance & writing career.
DISOBEDIENT
After committing the ultimate career crime—having not one, but two babies—I returned to stage for the first time in seven years at the end of 2025. My debut comedy special, Disobedient, unravels the myths of motherhood and womanhood through comedy and connection. It premiered at London’s Park Theatre to a sold out crowd, and is currently available to book. If you’re interested in hosting a showing of Disobedient, please contact me here!
JERK OFF!
The sequel to Burq Off!, over ten years in the making, Jerk Off! follows Nadia after her mother’s death, as she leaves England for Boston and falls for a magnetic hip-hop dancer who awakens something wild, playful, and dangerous within her.
What begins as a love story spirals into something far more complicated — a relationship that blurs the line between freedom and control, desire and self-betrayal.
This is not a story about a victim. It’s about agency. Complicity. The uncomfortable truth of what we choose — and what we refuse to see.
Blending storytelling, movement, and razor-sharp humour, Jerk Off tears into the myths Nadia was raised with — about love, culture, and what it means to be a “good” woman — and exposes the chaos underneath.
It’s funny. It’s unsettling. It’s a little bit incriminating.
And it doesn’t let you look away. Subscribe here to receive all the latest on upcoming shows.
SCREEN
SHUGS & FATS
Shugs and Fats is the Gotham Award–winning comedy series I co-created and starred in with Radhika Vaz. It follows two hijabi women in Brooklyn — loud, curious, and unapologetically themselves — as they chase freedom, joy, and absurdity on their own terms.
In 2015, the series went viral, won critical acclaim, and was later sold to Amazon, where we developed it into a pilot. At its heart, Shugs and Fats is about two immigrant women breaking every box they were handed — through friendship, mischief, and a lot of laughter.
CUT LEAF
In 2016, after being named one of Filmmaker Magazine’s 25 New Faces Of Independent Film, I was invited to apply to Tribeca Film Festival’s Through Her Lens program in partnership with Chanel. I was selected to develop Cut Leaf, a story inspired by my mother’s own passing. With the weight of a terminal diagnosis, Adeeba, a Pakistani mother, reckons with her own mortality by living vicariously through her daughter’s college experience. The film is now in development.
